Series: Stolen
Pastor Kerry Shook
This sermon includes the sermon outline and the full sermon transcript. Below you will see a preview of the outline and a portion of the full sermon.
• John 14:27 (LB)
3 Reasons We Let the Thief Steal Our Peace
• We battle with circumstances that are uncontrollable
• We battle with people who are unchangeable
• We battle with problems that are unexplainable
• Matt. 6:9-13 (NKJV)
1. TRUST THE FATHER'S PLAN
"Our Father in heaven …" Vs. 9
"Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Vs. 10
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, taking as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen --Reinhold Niebuhr
2. EXPECT GOD TO PROVIDE
"Give us this day our daily bread..." Vs. 11
"Hallowed be Your name." Vs. 9b

We're in this series I'm calling Stolen and speaking of Stolen, at the 2012 Masters right toward the end of the play-off, a 40-year-old spectator had had too much to drink, took an empty beer cup, slipped under the ropes and he scooped out some sand from one of the bunkers at the Hallowed Augusta National Golf Club and apparently they take stealing sand real seriously because they chased the guy down, tackled him, took his sand back and replaced it and then they turned him over to the local authorities who arrested him, fingerprinted him, took his mug shot and then booked him into county jail where he may still be right now. I don't know. Now, most of you when you heard the news about that, you just thought oh that's funny, man they really go over the top, hilarious, but when I heard that news it sent chills up my spine and it put fear into my heart because you see my wife Chris, she entered the lottery to win practice day tickets to the 2012 Masters, and she happened to win because she's more spiritual than me, and she won four tickets to Wednesday's practice session at the Masters this year, and so I got to take two of my sons and one of their friends, and we got to go to Augusta National Golf Club, and it was an amazing experience, and one thing about the Wednesday practice day and par three tournament is the players are really relaxed, and you can actually get autographs, and you can even bring a camera in on Wednesday, but on Thursday things get real serious, and so I got to take pictures of a lot of the golfers. Here's a picture I took of Tiger Woods when he walked by me.
