As we wrap up the series on heaven, I have to tell one of my favorite jokes and that is I dreamed I died and went to heaven and St. Peter met me at the gates and I was walking through heaven with St. Peter and I looked over and I saw Pastor Randy Reeves and that was a relief to see Randy, and the strange was he was with a very ugly woman and I asked St. Peter, I said, "what's the deal? Why is Randy with this woman?" and he said, "well, Kerry, Randy lived a really bad life on this earth and his punishment for all eternity is he will be married to this woman". And I thought, that's pretty harsh, but then I looked over and I saw Pastor Chris Ryan and he was with an even uglier woman.
And when I saw Chris I was surprised to see him at first, but then I realized that…
…that this woman was just hideous and I said, "St. Peter, what's the deal with this woman and Chris?" and he said, "well, Kerry, Chris lived a really terrible life on earth and so his punishment is he will be with this woman for all eternity". But then I looked over and I saw Pastor Stan. Beloved Pastor Stan. And he was with supermodel Heidi Klum.
And I thought this makes no sense Lord. How does Stan get to be with this supermodel and he said to me, "this supermodel, Heidi Klum, lived a really terrible life on earth.
Stan, I love you, you know I love you.
Stan is going to come up during announcements and say something about me, I just have this feeling. Well, today's talk is really all about a book, a brick and some sticks. As we conclude the series, stairway to heaven, we are asking the question, will there be rewards in heaven. And really, a book, a brick and some sticks tells the whole story about rewards in heaven, but first I want you to see that God's word clearly says, there will be rewards in heaven. So, open your Bibles to Matthew chapter 6, verse 19 and would you stand in honor of God's word. And as you're standing, just know you're standing with thousands of others at our east campus, Woodlands Church East. We're now one church in two locations and it's really exciting to think about the fact that we have all those people worshipping at Atascocita High School and we want to welcome all of you who are worshipping with us at our east campus. We're in two locations, but we're one church and we read God's word together, so just read this out loud with me.
