Recently we had The Flying Wallenda and Cortes Family come to the church to demonstrate faith by using the flying trapeze. So they set up the trapeze out on the plaza, and they did this amazing performance, and the shared their real and genuine faith story of how they know Christ, and it was an amazing weekend, but after it was all said and done, they said, Kerry you really need to try out the flying trapeze, and I said, you're kidding, and they said, no, it's perfectly safe. We put a harness on you, and then we attach it to a rope, and we'll have someone on the ground holding the rope, and so when you fall there's that little net there, but you could really injure yourself falling on the net if you don't know how to fall right, and you could miss the net very easily, but we have a rope, and we'll lower you down very gently. And I said, okay, I'll try it, and I really didn't mean that, because I was just kind of brushing them off, you know. But they just kept asking me over and over and over and over, and I go okay, okay, I'll do it. That will be great. That will be fun. I'll do it. And so they put the harness on me, I walked over to this little rope ladder that was real flimsy, and I said I don't even think I can climb this ladder, it's going to be moving all around. They said, we'll hold it really tight, it will be great. Okay, well, put the rope on me and I'm ready to go. And they said we can't put the rope on you until you climb all the up the ladder and stand on that little platform up there. And it was about the size of a skateboard. And I said, well what happens if I fall off the ladder, and they said, well don't think about that, just get up there to the top, and when you get up there to the top, we'll put the rope on you, and everything will be safe. Well, about halfway up the ladder, I froze for a couple of seconds and thought, what am I doing? What did I get myself into? This is crazy, but I just ... don't think about it ... don't think about, and I kept going, and I got to the top on that little platform, and they hooked the rope on me. I didn't feel any safer, and then it got even worse. Look how pathetic this is. Just watch. (VIDEO) That was so thrilling wasn't it? Maybe not to you, but it was really thrilling to me. My heart was racing. It was about halfway up the ladder when realty sank it. It was one of those reality moments where I had a choice to make.
