Luke 12:49-50 Jesus' Main Goal:
Fire = Judgment - convicting us of our sin and disobedience.
12:51-53 This Will Cost You:
Christianity demands a loyalty beyond any other priorities.
12:54-56 Open Your Eyes:
Just like farmers and sailors can read the weather, everyone should see this is the plan of God and prepare for it.
12:57-59 Use Common Sense:
A wise person settles their case before they're judged.
The point is that we all have a bad case that will go against us.
13:1-5 Deal With Death:
Everyone is guilty, will die, and needs to repent.
13:6-9 Deal With God:
A patient and just God expects fruit.
The tree is given every opportunity to grow.
God gives grace in 2nd chances.
There will be a final judgment.
