Philippians 2:12-18
Understanding a Tough Verse:
Philippians 2:12
Therefore = because of what Jesus did for you.
work out = bring to completion, or continue the process.
fear and trembling = take seriously your humility and accountability to God.
The Role God Plays:
Philippians 2:13
He does the work in you.
Romans 8:9-11, Philippians 1:6, 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, Titus 3:3-8
He changes your desires.
Romans 12:2, 1 Corinthians 2:10-16, Hebrews 10:16, Psalm 51:10
He changes your actions.
Galatians 2:20, John 14:12, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
He gives you a new purpose.
Ephesians 1:4-5
The Role You Play:
Philippians 2:14-16
Lessons from LEGOLAND:
Trust and follow the map.
Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 119:1-11 and 33-37, Joshua 1:8
Don't try to build or operate the rides.
John 3:3, John 15:10, Romans 5:19, Acts 1:8
Stay in the vehicle at all times.
Matthew 7:21-23, 1 Samuel 15:22, John 14:23
Share the experience with others.

TAKING IT HOME
1. Following Jesus is anything but dull and routine. Chris reminded us that when we give God control of our life He gives us unlimited access to a "park" that is greater than we can imagine. Take a minute to really think about the LEGOLAND analogy. Where do you put yourself in God's park?
Are you still waiting in the parking lot? Are you standing around just inside the gate? Are you trying to build the park yourself? Are you following the map and enjoying what the designer had in store for you?
How much of the park have you enjoyed?
What place(s) do you still want to go?
2. Is there any complaining or grumbling going on in your life that you could ask God to help you give up?
