Tonight we are going to speak from the subject, Heavenly Wisdom for Earth's Problems. I want you to look at James Chapter 1 beginning with Verse 5. We are going to study the word tonight and get into the heart of these passages of scripture because we so desperately need what the Bible is teaching in these passages.

Verse 5, "IF ANY OF YOU LACK WISDOM, LET HIM ASK OF GOD, THAT GIVETH TO ALL MEN LIBERALLY, AND UPBRAIDETH NOT; AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN HIM. BUT LET HIM ASK IN FAITH, NOTHING WAVERING. FOR HE THAT WAVERETH IS LIKE A WAVE OF THE SEA DRIVEN WITH THE WIND AND TOSSED.
FOR LET NOT THAT MAN THINK THAT HE SHALL RECEIVE ANY THING OF THE LORD. A DOUBLE MINDED MAN IS UNSTABLE IN ALL HIS WAYS."
If you are going to pass in school, you need knowledge. But if you are going to pass the test of life, you need heavenly wisdom for earth's problems. Now James has been talking in this passage about the trials and the tests of life and you remember they come for our enjoyment, they come for our enlargement and they come for our enrichment but the trials of life are going to come.
And he moves right from that into the subject of the wisdom of God to meet the needs that we face day by day by day in our life. Somebody said, "If you can keep your head when everybody else is losing theirs, you must not understand the situation."
But it may be that you understand the situation as God has revealed it to you and that is entirely different. It may be that God has given you some insight that He hasn't given anybody else and that's the reason that you can keep your head.
And so we are going to look tonight at a subject that we desperately, desperately, desperately need to grasp and I want you to look at three things in this passage.
