1 Peter 3:13-15
Two things about your testimony today….
1) Do you have one? (Saved, born again, faith in Christ)
2) Do you use the one you have? (Tell people about your salvation?)
Misconceptions about a Testimony.
1) Must be DRAMATIC. (drugs, murderer etc.)
2) Must know all of the Bible to tell it.
I Peter 3:13-15
1) Peter shows that there is a Change that has made a Difference in our lives.
V. 15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
Peter says that we are to so live our lives that people will want to know why we act differently.
?) What all is involved in a testimony?
A) Speech - word defense (v. 15) (answer) GK) Apologia =speech in defense.
B) Conduct - v. 16) manner of life, behavior.
Key> The greatest tool other than the word of God we can use to get people saved is our Testimony. However, the Greatest Deterrent in keeping people from coming to the Lord is often our Testimony.
Why?
Because often the things that we say and do, do not line up with how a Christian should live. "Well, I know old so and so down there, they live for the devil Monday - Saturday, then on Sunday, all holy."
That testimony does more damage than anything.
What is different about a Christian that people should see everyday??????
Galatians 5:19 -
Love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
CONTRAST THAT TO THE WORLD
Love? No joy?, no
The Christian life must be DIFFERENT, to be attractive.
Is your life Different? Are you a good steward of your testimony?
1) Peter shows that there is a Change that has made a Difference in our lives.
