The world in which Christians are called to live is clearly political. Politics affect Christians, but how should Christians view politics?
I. A Biblical Perspective.
A. The scattering of people groups. Genesis 11:1 9
B. The establishing of nations. Genesis 12:1 3
C. The ordering of society - prophets, priests, kings, judges.
D. The forming of government. Romans 13:1 7
1. 'The Powers that Be' established by God. v. 1
2. Their authority is divinely delegated. v. 2; 1 Peter 2:13-14

The "world" in which Christians live includes the "environment" in which they physically exist. Until recently many believers have shown little concern for the environment, although others have shown considerable interest. How should we view it?
I. Concerns About the Environment.
A. The environment - that fragile strip of land, water and air where we survive.
B. The population explosion concern.
1. 1930 - 2 billion, 1970 - 4 billion, 2000 - 6 billion, 2038 - 12 billion?
2. At the present rate the population doubles every 38 years.
C. The "energy crisis."
1. Supplies of oil, coal, and gas not illimitable.
2. Developed world's use of energy.

1 Timothy 6:6-19
Everybody has an interest in money. But attitudes to it differ widely. In discussing the controversial subject, Paul wrote, " We brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it." Nobody would disagree with that, so it is a good place to start!
I. Some Basic Principles Concerning Money.
A. We start out life without it.
B. We finish life by leaving it behind.
C. It is God who gives us the ability to "make money." Deuteronomy 8:18
D. We are therefore stewards of our possessions because:
S - skills; T - time; E - energy; W - work ethic; A - attitude; R - resources; are
D - delegated.
E. Wealth represented by money is to be handled according to His principles.
