Hebrews 12:1-13
Towards the end of his life Paul wrote, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). The Hebrews were encouraged to do the same. So are we.
I. The Life of Faith-A Race to Be Run.
A. Our intention.
1. The call we received. 3:1
2. The faith we confessed. 4:14
3. The confidence we exhibited. 10:19
B. Our incentive.
1. The witnesses who finished the race. 12:1a
2. The witnesses who furnish the example.
3. The witnesses who encourage the participants.

There are many reasons why worship should be a top priority-not least because we have found in God "grace to help us in our time of need." So "let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe."
I. The Attraction of Worship.

1. His "un approachableness." vv. 18 21; cf. Exodus 19f
a. God of the covenant.
b. God of the cloud.
c. God of the commandments.
2. His "approachableness." vv. 22 24
