I. The Place of Belief.
A. Belief about the existence of the Lord. v. 12
1. The Lord of reality.
2. The Lord of righteousness.
3. The Lord of relationship.
B. Belief about the experience of life. v. 10
1. Life that must be endured. Ecclesiastes 2:17
2. Life that may be enjoyed.
C. Belief about the exercise of liberty. v. 11

Sometimes when things get difficult, judgment is impaired, principles are abandoned and serious mistakes are made. In preparation for tough times, wise people have already decided what really matters.
I. A Matter of Confidence. v. 13
A. Eternal confidence. v. 13
1. Those who are eager to do good.
2. Those who are aware of real good. Romans 8:28
3. Those who are secure in the One who is good. Romans 8:29-39
B. External confidence. v. 14
1. The popular principle of pain and pleasure.
2. The spiritual principle of righteousness and reward.
C. Internal confidence. v. 15
