Innumerable options present themselves to people living in today's world. But according to Scripture these options represent two main possibilities for life. One is the possibility of living God's way, and the other is the possibility of going your own way. Solomon clearly delineated the difference.
I. The Necessity of Recognizing the Different Paths.
This involves:
A. Recognizing the Biblical wisdom.
1. Reality of good and evil.
2. Reality of God and Satan.
3. Reality of Heaven and Hell.
4. Reality of life and death.
B. Rejecting the popular wisdom.
1. Everything is relative.
2. God is irrelevant; Satan is non-existent.
3. Heaven-a state of mind; Hell-a medieval concept.

According to the popular proverb, disciplined sleeping habits guarantee all-round well-being. Solomon had a better idea. He said that "knowing God" (v. 6) was the key to being "healthy, wealthy, and wise."
I. How to Be Healthy.
A. The diverse ingredients.
1. A healthy body. v. 8
2. A healthy mind. vv. 2, 17, 23-25
3. A healthy spirit. vv. 18-22
B. The direct instructions.
1. Obey the Lord. vv. 1-4
