1 Chronicles 28:1-21
The final days of David were devoted to preparations for the building of the Temple. His attention to detail, his personal sacrifice, and his final instructions clearly show that at the end of his days, he could honestly say, "My heart is fixed, O God" (Psalm 57:7).
I. A Heart for God's Glory.
A. A heart that could explain God's glory.
1. Seen in His Covenant. v. 2
2. Seen in His footstool.
3. Seen in His Name. v. 3
4. Seen in His plans. vv. 5-6
B. A heart that could express God's glory.
1. Because it was a priority…shown by expenditure.
2. Because it was a privilege…shown by execution.
3. Because it was a pleasure…shown by extravagance.
II. A Heart for God's Work.
A. A matter of wholehearted submission. vv. 7-10
1. To the Lord his father's God.
