People tend to brag-sometimes with some degree of justification. But not before God. An understanding of the human condition and the divine answer leads to humility of attitude and reverence of life.

C. We were dominated-"prince of the air." v. 2
D. We were disobedient.
II. What We Did.
A. The deviations we enjoyed-"trespasses."
B. The defeats we encountered-"sins."

There are many mysteries concerning God. Yet God has revealed many of them to us, in order that the mysteries might be understood. Failure to minister these mysteries is one of the Church's main problems.
I. The Mystery of God.
A. The Nature of this mystery.
1. Its moral nature-"hid in God." v. 9
2. Its spiritual nature-"principalities and powers." v. 10
3. Its intellectual nature-"manifold wisdom." v. 10
4. Its eternal nature-"eternal purpose." v. 11
B. The Revelation of this mystery.
1. A developing revelation-"not made known." v. 5
2. A deliberate revelation-"Holy apostles" etc. v. 5
3. A detailed revelation-"apostolic, prophetic." v. 5
4. A dependable revelation-"by the Spirit."
