The Body of Christ, the Church, called to a unique function is made up entirely of unique people made unique through a unique experience. Conversion! The effectiveness of the Church is related to the "convertedness" of the members.
I. The Condition that Makes Conversion Vital. vv. 17-19
A. Intellectual darkness.
1. Vanity of mind.
2. Understanding darkened.
B. Spiritual deadness.
1. Alienated from life of god.
C. Emotional hardness.

Once a person has made a commitment to Christ and as a result has been forgiven and regenerated by the Holy Spirit, that person embarks on a life that will demonstrate that commitment in terms of "Conversion Conduct."

1. The activity of the "Slanderer." v. 27
