Mark 16:15 Then Jesus said to them, "So wherever you go in the world, tell everyone the Good News."
• This is commonly known as the GREAT COMMISSION. A COMMISSION is an authorization to act in a prescribed manner or to perform prescribed acts
• authority to act for, in behalf of, or in place of another
• a task or matter entrusted to one as an agent for another
So we have been given an authorization to go and tell others the GOOD NEWS! We are going in place of another. We are His ambassadors bringing glad tidings to others.

Everyone needs some good news. We live in a fallen world and the evening news is packed with news about what is going wrong in society. Crime, abuse, victimization, and destruction dominate the news. Unemployment is down and another politician has fallen into adultery.

Even our own Kristen Hurtado was on the news talking about how her mortgage bank did her wrong and now is part of a settlement that named 5 major banks.

1 Chronicles 16:23 Sing to the Lord, all the world! Proclaim every day the good news that he has saved us. 24 Proclaim his glory to the nations, his mighty deeds to all peoples. 25 The Lord is great and is to be highly praised; he is to be honored more than all the gods. 26 The gods of all other nations are only idols, but the Lord created the heavens. 27 Glory and majesty surround him, power and joy fill his Temple. 28 Praise the Lord, all people on earth, praise his glory and might.
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
Most of us were there. When we first came to Christ we tried to tell everyone about Him, but then we suffered the persecution and the rejection and soon pulled back from our commitment to fulfill the GREAT COMMISSION.
