How many of you are looking for some serious change in your life? Are you willing to admit that something's gotta change? How many of you would be gutsy enough to say I am the one who has to change. My circumstances may not change very soon. Other people may not be different over night. I am the one standing in the need to change.

Change: the act, process, or result of making different; the frequent and usually sudden passing from one condition to another

So as you know we are in a time of consecration in our church, a season to carve out time with God. Many are fasting, many are being more diligent about getting into prayer.The question is:

WHAT IS A FAST?

It is depriving your flesh in order that your spirit or your inner man may increase. It is putting down the old man that the new man may rise up.

WHAT FORMS OF FASTING ARE BEST?

There are no forms of fasting that are best. The key is that it comes from the heart. It comes from a desire for more of Him. It comes from a desire for change. It could be food, it could be facebook, it could be working out (Tim).

HOW SHOULD I FAST?

You could fast and pray all day and then eat a light dinner.
You could do a juice fast
You could do a water fast for a day or so.
You could eat just vegetables and fruit.
You could fast one meal every day and pray instead of eating.
You could fast your time on your iphone or your facebook.

WHY FAST?

Is it because God wants us to? Is it the answer that simple?

WHY DOES GOD WANT US TO?

Because He knows we are human flesh. And He knows that there is a battle within us between our old self and our new nature in Christ.
