The Purpose of God's Plan is Personal (1 of 2)
Series: Christmas, the Celebration of the Incarnation of God

Today we will look at the 3 most popular prophecies of the coming of Jesus and show how His purpose for coming is YOU.
Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting."
Micah's prophecy was not just a prediction that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem. And we know from reading the account in the New Testament that Joseph had to take Mary his fiancé back to where he was born in order for the government to take a census.
Here is the account in Luke chapter 2:1 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.
What I love about this account in Luke 2 is that God will move heaven and earth in order to accomplish His sovereign purposes on earth. The Bible says in Proverbs 21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.
There are things that happen in our lives sometimes, things that seem ultimately uncontrollable. Rather than look at those things as being an inconvenience, why not see them from God's perspective that God's purposes and plans would come to pass in your life and in the earth!
Tell the story of Poppy not being able to sell his house.
And the story of the sovereign hand of God moving us from NY to VA.
