Part 4: Strengthening the Stakes
Series: The Growing Church
Stuart Briscoe
Isaiah 57:14-21
Isaiah reminded the returning exiles that if they were to make ready for the great influx of people by "enlarging their tent" they would need to "strengthen the stakes" or the whole enterprise would collapse. It is not difficult to see how the same applies to the church. But what are the "stakes" and how are they strengthened?

1. The personal impediments to spiritual growth.
2. The corporate issues that inhibit ministry.
B. By renewal of perspective. vv. 15 19
1. The character of the Lord.
a. His name is "Holy."
b. He lives forever.
c. His dwelling is high and holy…
d. …and with the contrite and lowly.
