I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Ephesians Chapter 6 and we are going to begin reading in Verse 1 in just a moment. I told you I would preach the second half of my message tonight and so that is what I'm going to do.
I've been preaching on soul winning on these Sunday nights and I want to go aside from that but really it relates to much to our witness for Christ because really you are never the witness that you ought to be for Jesus until you are living the spirit filled life in your home.
Until relationships are right between young people and parents, between husbands and wives, God cannot use your Christian witness as He wants to use it and so we are really talking about witnessing and winning people to Jesus when we are preaching on this subject tonight.
I'm going to talk tonight on part two of Foundations for the Family. We said that the answer to the problems facing the crisis of homes of Americans today is the power of the Holy Spirit of God.
Paul came to address that subject in Ephesians Chapter 5 and he said that all believers were commanded to be filled with the Spirit. The word filled means controlled by the Spirit. When you study that passage you understand that Paul means we are to be consciously filled, continuously filled, and conspicuously filled with the Spirit of God.
It is interesting that he comes in the very next verses all through chapter 6 to apply that to your relationship with your husband or wife or with your mother or your father in the home. You cannot be right with God if you are not right with your family. The two go together.
And the Christian life is to be best exemplified in home and family relationships. God has laid some foundations for the family and how we need today as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to lay hold to ...
