I hope you will turn with me to Ephesians Chapter 5. I would like for you to keep your Bible open tonight to Ephesians Chapter 5 and Ephesians 6. There are several things I want to cover in this series on Ephesians that I didn't have the opportunity or the time previously to cover.
So tonight I'm just going to kind of finish the series by going through Ephesians 5 and 6 and just preaching on everything that I feel like I missed. So you just keep your Bible open there and we will read several passages as we move through this message.
I want to speak tonight on the subject God's Alarm Clock and when we read this passage of scripture I want you to see that if you don't agree with me that this passage an alarm that God is ringing in our ears to get us to wake up.
When I say God's alarm clock, I don't mean God needs an alarm clock for himself, He needs an alarm for you and for me to help us to know what time it is. So look at this verse of scripture with me. Ephesians Chapter 5 Verse 14, "THEREFORE HE SAYETH, AWAKE THOU THAT SLEEPETH."
See there it is. "AWAKE THOU THAT SLEEPETH AND RISE FROM THE DEAD AND CHRIST SHALL THE LIGHT; SEE THEN THAT YOU WALK CIRCUMSPECTLY, NOT AS FOOLS BUT AS WISE, REDEEMING THE TIME, BECAUSE THE DAYS ARE EVIL.
THEREFORE DO NOT BE UNWISE, BUT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE WILL OF THE LORD IS. AND DO NOT BE DRUNK WITH WINE, IN WHICH IS DISSIPATION; BUT BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT."
Someone has said that an alarm clock is a contrivance of design to scare the daylights into you and I want to tell you we need the daylight scared into us, we need to understand what time it is on the timetable of God.
