During a British conference on comparative religions, experts from around the world debated what, if any, belief was unique to the Christian faith. They began eliminating various possibilities.

Incarnation? Other religions had different versions of gods appearing in human form.

Resurrection? Again, other religions had accounts of return from death. The debate went on for some time until C. S. Lewis wandered into the room.

''What's the commotion all about?'' He asked, and heard in reply that his colleagues were discussing Christianity's unique contribution among world religions. Lewis responded, ''Oh, that's easy. It's Grace.''

The Buddhist eightfold path, the Hindu doctrine of karma, the Jewish covenant, the Muslim code of law, each of these offers a way to earn approval. It is only Christianity that dares to make God's love unconditional.

Friend I believe will beable to see God's unconditional love as we look at this great chapter. The evangelist, Tony Campolo would ask students at secular universities what they know about Jesus. Can they recall anything Jesus said?

By clear consensus, they reply ''love your enemies.''More than any other teaching of Christ, this one stands out to an unbeliever.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, ''it's the greatest short story ever told in or out of the Bible.''

We have lost sheep, lost silver, a lost son and if you turn to Luke 16:10 you have a lost soul. The sheep was lost unintentionally , the silver was lost by the fault of another, and the Son was lost willfully.

He took himself off and if anyone of us are lost it will be because of either one of these three reasons or a combination of all of them.

And notice the entire Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are involved in our redemption. For the good shepherd is a picture of Jesus the Son, the woman with the candle and the broom sweeping the house is a picture of the Holy S ...
