Psalm 128
Well, it time for boys and girls to go to Children's Church grades one through four. Meet Ms. Tana right over here. We love children at the Church At Quail Creek. Amen. And we just thank God for these boys and girls and as they go out here a message that will be meaningful to them on their level. We thank the Lord for them.
Well, this morning I want us to turn to the book of Psalms, Chapter 128. Or you can just refer to your bulletin if you would like to do that inside your bulletin you will find the outline for the message today as we think about dads who shoot straight or fathers who shoot straight from Psalm 128.
This speaks of a family. It is a beautiful picture of a father surrounded by his loving wife and his children and a beautiful picture of what God gives us as an ideal family, an ideal home lead by a father who is serious about God.
''BLESSED IS EVERY ONE WHO FEARS THE LORD,WHO WALKS IN HIS WAYS. WHEN YOU EAT THE LABOR OF YOUR HANDS,YOU SHALL BE HAPPY, AND IT SHALL BE WELL WITH YOU. YOUR WIFE SHALL BE LIKE A FRUITFUL VINE
IN THE VERY HEART OF YOUR HOUSE, YOUR CHILDREN LIKE OLIVE PLANTS ALL AROUND YOUR TABLE. BEHOLD, THUS SHALL THE MAN BE BLESSED WHO FEARS THE LORD.
THE LORD BLESS YOU OUT OF ZION, AND MAY YOU SEE THE GOOD OF JERUSALEM ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE. YES, MAY YOU SEE YOUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN. PEACE BE UPON ISRAEL!''
So it speaks not only of fathers but of grandfathers, ''MAY YOU SEE YOUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN.'' You know when you are a father and your children get up and get grown and have children, you still have a role of being a father who shoots straight, whether you are a father or a grandfather today.
And I know that on Father's Day we are reminded of our fathers who are not with us, our fathers who have gone to heaven to be with the Lord. You may not be a person who was blessed by a godly father, but you know God is your Father.
