Philippians 2: 12-18
Paul bluntly expressed his opinion of the world in which he and the Philippians were living when he called it "a crooked and depraved generation." But he believed that they were placed in the situation so that they could shine brightly in it! Points of light!
I. Keep Shining as You Work Out Your Salvation! vv. 12 15
A. The reality of their salvation.
1. Based on the grace of God manifested in the death of Christ.
2. Presented through the preaching of the gospel of Christ.
3. Embraced through faith in the finished work of Christ.
a. Salvation: forgiveness of what they had done.
b. Salvation: deliverance from where they were going.
c. Salvation: transformation of what they were.
i. Individually.
ii. Corporately.
B. The responsibility of their salvation.

Paul said he counted "everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus (his) Lord" and his "one thing" was to "press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." He was determined to "Press on," whatever happened!
I. A Defining Moment.
From rejecting Jesus to recognizing Christ to rejoicing in the Lord. v. 1
II. A Decisive Action.
A. A decision to count profit as loss…rejecting "righteousness of my own" based on:
1. Ritual.
2. Heritage.
3. Religion.
4. Zeal.
5. Perfection.
B. A decision to count loss as profit…embracing "righteousness that comes from God." v. 9
