Series: Live Like Jesus

I John 4:7-20
Intro: We have been exploring the book of I John, learning how to live like Jesus. We've seen Jesus rightly proclaimed by John the Apostle, understood that living like Jesus is a miracle that results from abiding in Him, and we have been empowered to overcome, to conquer the enemy, through the Holy Spirit anointing on our lives. From the Apostle of Love, we also learned about the lavish love of the Father. The love of God is rich and pure, beyond any human love we could ever experience. We are to take that same love that Jesus has revealed to us and show it to others. We share perfect love with imperfect people. Our text today is I John 4:7-20, with our focus on I John 4:18.

2 Cor 13:11 …Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
2. God's love is unconditional, perfect, eternal, personal, beyond your understanding, measureless, and limitless.
1 Jn 4:9-10 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Rom 8:35, 37 NLT Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? …No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
