A Physical and sexual attraction and fulfilment-"Eros."
B. Friendship and companionship-"Philia."
C. Commitment to the other's well-being-"Agape."

Ivan Boesky told the graduating class at Berkeley, "I think greed is healthy. You can be greedy and still feel good about yourself." Not many people would openly agree with him, but we all have to struggle with our attitudes to material things.
I. What Is Materialism?
A. Ancient views that material is evil.
1. Asceticism.
2. Epicureanism.
3. Contradicted by creation and incarnation.
B. Contemporary views that material is everything.
1. Communism.
2. Capitalism-in many forms.
