A Strategic Vision to Reach Cities and Nations
Frank Damazio
Acts 13:49
Introduction: We need to lift ourselves out of a self-centered spirituality, a mentality that says we are victims rather than warriors. Our vision must be God's vision - to reach our city and make it a place where God's presence, God's ways, and God's word are a dominant force. Over half of the world's population lives in urban centers and large cities. Most of these large cities are filled with violence, drugs, gangs, prostitution, poverty, perversion. We are called to our cities not because they are beautiful or the best place to raise children, but because God has called us to that particular city. The word ''city'' occurs 1,090 times in the Old Testament. They had walled cities and fortified cities. Cities were built with a purpose: store cities, treasure cities, law cities, military cities, and cities for chariots and horsemen.
Acts 26:19 Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.
Acts 13:49 And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region.
