INTRODUCTION: The church is to be the gateway, the doorway, to bringing the reality of heaven into every community, every city, every state and every nation. God desires to be awesome in our unique, special local setting through your unique, special local church. Let us stir our faith to believe in God and our passion to pursue earnestly after all that He has promised and believe to see the supernatural invade our church and our community.

1 Kings 8:28-29 Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today: that Your eyes may be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, 'My name shall be there,' that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place.

I. THE LEADER'S FIRST STEPS

A. FIRST, A BASIC PRESUPPOSITION

As a leader, I am not satisfied with the level of results we are having in our answers to prayer, healings, miracles and the supernatural. It is not pleasing to the Holy Spirit to dismiss evident discrepancy between theology and experience with a shrugging of the shoulders or to simply leave this area of truth out of our basic spiritual DNA.


1. Houses Too Small: The place we dwell is too small

a. Our spiritual capacity, our place of faith, etc. is too small. Let us build a new house.

b. 2 Kings 6:1-2 The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, "See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us. Please, let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from there, and let us make there a place where we may dwell." So he answered, Go.

2. Bed Too Short: Our bed is too short

a. Our spiritual passion needs to be shaken up, stretched, comfort zone invaded.\

b. Isaiah 28:20 For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the covering so narrow that one cannot wrap himself in it.
