Given all the ink that has been spilled on the subject of marriage, it is remarkable that no less an authority than Jesus summarized the basic principles of the married life in two or three sentences! Everyone should be familiar with what He said and seek to apply it.

I. Marriage - a principle ordained by God, not a human idea subject to revision.

A. "From the beginning of creation God created...." What that means:
1. Contemporary "alternative lifestyles" contradict divine principles.
2. Healthy marriages should be based on obedience to God's Word.

B. How we tried to apply this:____________________________________

II. Sexuality - is a God given treasure, not a toy or a marketing tool.

Joshua 24:15

There are no guarantees that all will go smoothly in life or marriage because there are many forces intent on destroying our lives and relationships. But God has promised us the resources we need to deal with life's eventualities and we have to decide which way we are going to go - or as Joshua said, which gods are we going to serve?

I. The Context.

A. God's people had seen God's remarkable provision.
B. They were beginning to drift away from their initial commitments.
C. Joshua told them - decision time - who are you going to serve?
