Introduction: Do you have a favorite place that you really love? A coffee place, vacation place, camping place, shopping place, reading place? Do you ever find yourself missing that "place" and begin daydreaming, lonely to return to the place? When you do go to that place, you have a sweeping range of emotions and memories. The place has meaning to you. It is personal, private and only you know the depth of feeling you have for that place. We all have God-experience places in life.

I. THE SPECIAL PLACES

A. A SPECIAL PLACE IS A LOCATION WHERE A GOD-EXPERIENCE HAPPENS THAT BECOMES SIGNIFICANT AND MEANINGFUL.

1. Place Identity: The significance and meaning that particular places have for their inhabitants.

2. Place Value: The value we put on a place after we experience the place.

3. Place Sense: What people sense in a strong and real way about a particular geographic area or a specific location.

B. SPECIAL PLACES GOD HAS SET APART FOR US

1. The Personal Word Place

a. Abraham went early to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

b. Scriptures

Genesis 19:27 Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

Genesis 13:4 to the place of the altar which he had made there at first. And there Abram called on the name of the Lord.

Genesis 13:14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are- northward, southward, eastward, and westward."

2. The Provision Place

a. Abraham built an altar. God provided in that place. Mt. Moriah had an emotion and meaning - a place God provided.

b. Scriptures

Genesis 22:3-4 So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar ...
