The Sword Of The Spirit (6 of 6)
Series: The Believer And Spiritual Warfare
Frank Damazio

Introduction: This is our last piece of armor in our series of the believer and spiritual warfare. We have studied each piece of the armor as presented by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:10-17 and now come to the Sword of the Spirit. The Sword of the Spirit is distinct in that it is specifically an "offensive" weapon. The sword could repel the enemy but also attack the enemy. We can and must use the Sword of the Spirit that would cause the enemy to flee from us.

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Psalm 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand.

Isaiah 49:2 And He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden me, and made me a polished shaft; in His quiver He has hidden me.

Ezekiel 21:9 Son of man, prophesy and say, "Thus says the Lord! Say: A sword, a sword is sharpened and also polished!"

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
