Opening

You and I are desperate for the nearness of God. All of all the ways we hope to grow in this life…the physical proximity of our Heavenly Father is essential. This Christmas, our greatest present will be His presence.

Introduction

-Matthew 1:18-24 (...was the angel confused, which is it?)

• Jesus - Jehovah is Salvation
• Immanuel - God with Us

There is a nearness of God within us, In the Heart, that is only possible when we accept the atoning death of Christ on our behalf, we cannot experience the promise of "Immanuel" (God with us) until we embrace the person of "Jesus" (Jehovah is salvation).












Egypt

• History and not Mythology…
• Prophecy fulfilled…
• Atonement…

The holiness of God demands justice…in God's economy, death is the currency of forgiveness. Grace is not the act of ignoring sin but rather allowing a substitutionary death to bear its consequence.
