Let's Talk about Missions
Rex Yancey
Luke 19:10
''FOR THE SON OF MAN has come to SEEK and to SAVE that which was LOST…''
Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Jericho is the lowest city in the world. It is well below sea level. It is the place Joshua brought the Israelites after he crossed the Jordon River. It is located 10 miles north of the Dead Sea. It is on the West Bank of the Palestinian territories today. It is one of the oldest populated places on earth.
Jesus found Zacchaeus in a sycamore tree. He called him down from the tree and saved him.

However, we have to use that term to distinguish ourselves from others who are not evangelical.
How many of you are missionaries? Be careful before you answer that question. You see, if you are a born again Christian, you are on a mission. Jesus said, ''As the Father hath sent me, so send I you…'' Missions indicate that a person has been sent on a mission.
-2 Corinthians 5:18-21 ''God has given us the ministry of reconciliation. He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are ambassadors for Christ.'' Man is not on a parallel line with God. It is our mission to get man on line with God. Every person one earth is either on mission or a mission.

A. Jesus was predicted.
