In your study this week, you'll also read about some people who were trying to do some IMITATION in the faith department… in other words, they basically were faking it.

They knew the 'right things to do and say,'
or they had the 'head-knowledge'…
but they didn't really know it in their hearts.
Then, as you go through your study, you'll also read about these 10 guys who really did in fact show their faith.

But I'll leave you with that and let you all dig into God's Word and do some LEARNING from EXAMPLES during your study, though.
This morning, I want to set the stage for our study this week by focusing in on this thing that most of us would just as soon leave out of our own personal faith journey…and that's that thing called, the 'testing of our faith'…or what we might also call the 'school of hard knocks'
or the school of the 'practical experience'…
so even though most of us would just as soon like to 'fast-forward' past the thing of 'tests,' God knows that we really do need them
in order for us to LEARN how to respond to HIM
and HOW to GROW as we go through these 'growing experiences.'
The really good thing though, is that unlike some teachers I've had in the past, God gave us fair notice that we'd have these tests…
in other words, we didn't walk into the classroom of life one day,
and God chuckles, and says, surprise class…
I'm giving you a pop-test today…
You see, God has already told us that we'd face tests at times…
