Have you ever been to a movie before that just captured you, had you, you think it's the greatest movie of all time, you are ready to Facebook your memories, tweet your heart out, then you get to the end. And you think to yourself, I just wasted 2 hours of my life, on this? And spent $10 on a ticket, $15 on a heart attack and a drink?

Holy Grail - really, King Arthur getting arrested?
Star Wars VI - dancing ewoks - we saved the universe for this?
Others?

It leaves this unsatisfying taste in your mouth - like you have been set up. I wish there was some sort of Movie Ending Police to make sure it wasn't legal to do this, or some sort of disclaimer, like this:
There are many examples in life and experience that seem to start well, but end up being incomplete or forgotten or half-accomplished - in some way unsatisfied. As a kid I had many models left undone, half finished. Great plans, but they just took a back seat to other 'more pressing' activities. Or relationships that start off so promising, but end with a whimper. A job, a vacation, a date… and even someone's faith.

And it leaves us shaking our heads, amazed that something that started off so well can go so wrong so quickly.

Paul jumps right into the battle in Galatians 1. Usually, if you compare to his other writing, Paul spends some time praising or encouraging the church, then he launches into the correction phase. Not so with Galatians. He has a sense of urgency to the entire letter, and it starts off right on target - no time to catch a breath. It's as if his urgency for the church precludes him from making any opening statements. He wants to deal with the problem so he can know that the church is responding properly. Let's read Galatians 1:6-10:

6 I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from Him who called you by the grace of Christ, [and are turning] to a different gospel- ...
