Ten years ago today … our country was attacked by Al-Qaeda .. forever changing the landscape of America. You cannot go through an airport today without being reminded of the tragic events of 9/11:scanners, pat-downs, carry-on restrictions, no curb-side parking to name a few.
Nearly 3000 victims from 70 nationalities, not to mention the 6000 people injured brought our nation to her knees .. but not for long. Our nations problems are much deeper than what happened on 9/11. In my 53 years .. there has never been a time that I was more burdened and concerned about our country as I am today.
America is sick … and unless there is a fresh movement of God across our land .. our sickness will lead to certain death. Unless God's people experience personal revival .. unless we repent of our sin and once again be the salt and the light God intends for us to be … unless we start living out in our homes and in our community what we claim to be .. somebody will be soon writing: The Rise and Fall of the American Empire, and the American Dream … as we know it .. will be over.
Now you know that I am no pessimist .. nor am I an alarmist .. or am I a blind optimist .. but I am a bible realist. And being a bible realist .. I must tell you today that in my estimation .. if there is not soon a great awakening in America … we will one day wake up and look like England and other countries that have abandoned God.
Our houses of worship will be nothing more than monuments to our past. God's hand of blessing and protection will be removed. The preaching of the Word of God will be a thing of the past. And the judgment of God will be unleashed upon us as it was upon the children of Israel.
