We're doing as we start this brand new series on Laughing out Loud. And all of us could laugh a little more. It's good for you. It's healthy. And we were at Dean and Kim Nichols and Dan and Terry Perdue's and Dean asked me, "Have you seen on YouTube the taking dog?" You know I normally stay up at night and look for things like the talking dog on YouTube. I'm not even sure I've ever seen YouTube. I said, "I don't know what you're talking about." He said well it's really funny! So he kept talking about it and said go get your computer and let me show you. So he showed me and I laughed out loud. And I never, never ever thought that I would begin a message with a talking dog but here it goes.

That was funny wasn't it? Makes you laugh out loud. God designed the Christian life to be happy not sad - to enjoy not to just endure it - to be dynamic, not to be dull. When did we start taking ourselves so seriously? When did we stop being fun? When did people stop being funny? When did we push relationships out of our lives? When did we stop having back door friends? I don't know you grew up but I grew up in the country and we had back door friends that could just come in the back door anytime they wanted to. Not only that they could walk straight to the kitchen and eat off the stove 'cause they were back door friends. When did we stop having back door friends and put garage doors over the garage and with a remote control shut our neighbors out? When did we stop hanging out with each other? See, I think hanging out ought to be a spiritual gift. Because God made us to hang out. Have you ever watched a funny movie alone? Did you laugh out loud? No! But put a room full of people in there and everybody's laughing and you laugh throughout the whole movie because God made us that way. Laughing out loud is good for the body, the mind and the soul.
