Proverbs 23.29-35
Now as you're turning to Proverbs 23, this book contains messages that I preached on Sunday mornings at Roswell Street Baptist Church in 2011. You most likely will find them alarming. But I pray that what starts out as alarming will cause a new awareness, and that new awareness will cause an awakening in your life and in the lives of those you love.
Each chapter reflects what I am calling: THE UNRAVELING OF THE AMERICAN DREAM. And from God's word we're going to not only consider the symptoms (the cause) but the solutions (the cure).

America was born out of a revival: people seeking God. Our forefathers laid as the foundation of our nation Judeo-Christian values based upon the principles of the Word of God. And God has so blessed America. And we still sing, "God Bless America." But why should He?
The Prophet Isaiah warned us that this day would come when he said "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter" (Isaiah 5.20).

Listen to the words of General Douglas MacArthur, "History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster."
C.S. Lewis said, "Moral collapse follows upon spiritual collapse."
