Now as you're turning with me to Mark 6 .. were you aware that there are over 700 names in the Bible that describes Jesus? Some of the names are familiar and some are not. For instance .. He is called "the chief corner stone" ... "the Son of the Blessed" .. "Counselor" ... "Wonderful" ... "Mighty God" .. "Everlasting Father" .. "Prince of Peace" .. "Immanuel" ... "Faithful and True" ... "Friend."
That would be a wonderful sermon series one day: Simply, the Names of Jesus. And the reason His names are important to understand is because "every name that He bears is a blessing that He shares." The better we come to understand those names .. the better we come to know Him. And the more we know Him .. the more we love Him. And the more we love Him .. the more we want to worship Him and serve Him and be like Him!
Now in our time together .. from Mark 6 .. we find there is a name given to Jesus that not only lets understand Him more .. but gives everyone of us here hope!
