Today, we are talking about Growing Strong through God's Word. We know our nation was built upon the Word of God, but not just those who believed the Word of God, not just those who believed the Bible was the inerrant Word of God, but those who obeyed and practiced the Word of God.

In fact, had it not been for their practicing the Word of God, wanting to come to a land where they could worship God according to the direction of their own hearts, wanting to come to a land where they could build their lives upon the values of the Word of God, we would not have our nation today.

Our nation, truly, was founded upon God's Word. Not only do we have to found our nation on God's Word, but we have to found our lives on God's Word if we are to succeed in the Christian life. In fact, when we buy something, most of the time, if we buy a tool or an automobile or a boat or whatever we buy, it has an owner's manual with it.

When you get in trouble, you need to look at the owner's manual, but what is even better is to look at the owner's manual before you get into trouble, so that you can keep from getting into trouble. The Bible is the owner's manual for our lives.

I have noticed that people who use tools are very particular about their tools because they know that it takes the right tool to accomplish the task that needs to be done. For example, you wouldn't want a surgeon opperating on you with a chain saw instead of a scapel.
