Jesus Christ taught His disciples how to pray by giving them this ''Model Prayer.'' The disciples of Jesus Christ never asked Him how to preach…how to heal the sick…how to calm the storm…but they did ask Him how to pray.
The Gospel of Luke, Chapter 11:1… ''Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, ''Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.'' So He said to them, ''When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven…''
The first key to praying with power is this…you must know God as your Heavenly Father.
Paul wrote to the Galatians, ''You are all sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ…Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ''Abba, Father.''
It is not our goodness that makes us sons and daughters of God…but faith in the Lord Jesus Christ brings to us that privilege of calling God, ''Our Father.''
The truth of the Word of God is this: You are unconditionally loved and adopted by your Heavenly Father… ''Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God!''
