Lamentations 3:22-23 is a prophecy of God about Israel's future. When things looked bleak God spoke through Jeremiah.

Lamentations 3:22-23 "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

Deuteronomy 7:9 "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;"

God is a faithful God. Sometimes we say there is nothing God cannot do. And that is absolutely true except that God cannot sin. God cannot go against His own nature. God cannot do some things because of the nature of God. God is Holy therefore God cannot sin. God is just therefore God cannot do anything that is unjust. God is true therefore God cannot tell a lie; God cannot go against a promise. God is Holy and God is just so He cannot be unfair. God cannot see your sin through the blood of Jesus Christ because He has promised to cover your sin. There are many, many promises in the Bible to the children of God and God will never break a promise, He has never broken a promise and He never will break a promise because to break a promise would mean that God would be a liar and God will never be a liar. Let every man be a liar but God is true.
