INTRO: In Genesis, we have the account of when God established and set in motion, the entity called time. As God set forth the morning and the evening and called them one day, so He also set forth seven days in a week. For over 6000 years, mankind has operated within the limits and boundaries of this system. Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 3:1, "to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven". As we glean from Solomon's wisdom, we have to agree with the truth of his statement. But, even as wise as Solomon was, he never foresaw the day when time would meet eternity, much less the day when eternity would deposit itself into time. While there is truly a time to every purpose under the heavens, the day would come when eternity would come from heaven, and deposit itself into the entity of time. Prior to this meeting of time and eternity, time had always operated on a supply and demand system, or better stated, a give and take system. This simply means that for every day that time gave or supplied to man, time would take it back at the end of that day. After a day was spent, it could never be retracted or retrieved. Eternity, on the other hand, never relinquishes anything that is deposited within it's boundaries. When the Bible refers to "eternal life", it means that once a soul is deposited in Christ, who is eternal, then that soul remains in Christ and in eternity. As we glean t ...
