I think we're seeing that we need to put this wisdom stuff where it really counts...
God says to ‘write it on our hearts'...or like I said last week,
"write it on the note pad of your heart."
That's because it is out of our hearts
that our lives either Show Jesus or they don't. ()

Now let's pick up with verse 5...
This is another one of those important bits of wisdom
that we need to add to our notes...
but this one is a really big one...so again, get out your note pads...

Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Trust in God with all your heart...in other words,
In other words, God is telling us, "we shouldn't think we've got it SO wired that we can go it alone and handle life on our own wisdom...or our own smarts...
we need Jesus managing our lives, BUT we need to LET HIM do just that.

Now, here's where the rub comes in...
and we have all sorts of ‘good sounding' worldly wisdom that tries
to get us to do stuff completely on our own...
Right off, you and I think, hey, I'm intelligent...
I've got a good head on my shoulders...
and besides God wants me to make some decisions on my own
so, I don't need to check in with Him on every little detail of my life...
plus, God's got bigger things to worry about than what clothes I should wear.

So instead of checking in with God throughout the day,
we start taking on more and more of our own life-management
and in fact, we might even do OK for a while...

But why is it that we want to do this in the first place?
Adam and Eve did it also...

It's this problem called "pride",
Pride makes us think we don't need help...
Pride convinces us that we can make all the right decisions
on our own.
And where does that lead?

It shows that we DON'T really trust God...
and instead ...
