John 13.31-35
We're asking God these days to show us ways to SPLASH our community with the living water of Jesus. And of course SPLASH is an acrostic for Show People Love And Share Him.
October 25th is the day we begin implementing our SPLASH initiative through our Sunday School on campus and through our Small groups off campus. I'm praying that we will have dozens of SPLASH groups that day throughout our community Showing People Love And Sharing Him.
And I'm sure that your SPLASH group won't look like mine. God's going to use your personality .. your passion .. your giftedness to find ways to SPLASH the living water of gospel beginning October 25th. Yours may be a block party ... a tail gate party ... it may mean meeting a need that someone has: mowing a neighbors yard, baking a cake in Jesus' name! Be creative! Think outside the box. Use your God-given imagination! But let's find ways to Show People Love And Share Him.
And then following that weekend .. we'll be giving and hearing reports of how God is using our SPLASH groups to help bring others to Jesus.
Well .. in preparing for our SPLASH initiative over the last couple of weeks .. both in Sunday School on campus and Small Groups off campus and in all of our Worship venues ... we've talked a little about the first two letters of SPLASH: Show and People.
Now as we continue in our study of the gospel of John under the heading WHAT A SAVIOR ...we come today to chapter 13.31 where
we find Jesus talking about the third letter of SPLASH .. The letter "L."
So take God's Word and join me in John 13.
In our time together today beginning in verse 31 .. I want to talk to you about The Believer's Badge. If there was one word that should characterize every Christian .. if there was one signature of every saint ... one badge of every believer it would be L O V E.
Well .. that's what we're thinking about today:
