INTRODUCTION: This morning, I want to talk to you about one of the most important subjects in the Bible--the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit. The moment you got saved, the Holy Spirit came to dwell within your body. If you are a Christian, He is within you at this very moment. 1 Cor. 3:16 says, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"

How important is this? It is more important than many of us think. Let us keep in mind; we are talking about God in us. The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the godhead, equal to and co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. And if that is true, and it is, then His importance and relevance in our lives must be something we not only understand; but we must make certain that He has an active role in everything we do.

It seems there are two extremes today; either people have little knowledge and awareness of the presence of the Holy Spirit, or they give emphasis to certain extraneous things such as speaking in tongues, divine healing and outward emotion. The Bible says that "God is not the Author of confusion" (I Cor. 14:33). The Lord wants us to know and understand the truth about the Holy Spirit in order that we might not only appreciate who He is, but that we might live in such a way as to experience His "Power and Presence" in our lives.

In 1 Cor. 2:4, Paul said, "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power."

Acts 1:8, the Lor ...
