How to Have Victory in the New Year

II Corinthians 2:14
We are looking today at ‘‘How To Have Victory’’ in the New Year. We are more than conquerors through Christ, through Him that loved us. If you want to be on the winning team, then you’d better get off the devil’s side because you are with the crowd that’s going to lose.
The only way you can win is to be on God’s team, to be on God’s side, to be a part of God’s army because we are fighting, not for victory, we’re fighting from victory. Victory is not a destination. Victory is the beginning point for the child of God.
I want you to see what Paul says about how to have victory in the new year.
II Corinthians 2:14 - ‘‘Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the Savour of his knowledge by us in every place.’’
When we understand the victorious Christian life, we’ll understand that the victorious life is the normal Christian life. If you are not living victoriously as a believer today, if you are living in defeat then you are living beneath your privileges as a child of God.
Someone is well said that the church has been subnormal so long that if we get normal, folks will think we’re abnormal. We are at a point today where if a church is victorious, if the people of God are happy, if they are getting answers to their prayers, if they’re winning souls to the Lord, if they’re walking in victory, then people thinks something is wrong or abnormal about that kind of church.
Well, that just means the church has returned to normal because the church of the Lord Jesus is a mighty fortress, as the orchestra played, ‘‘A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.’’ God always causes us to triumph to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Not only the church, but you, as an individual believer were born to win. God always causes us to triumph through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, the figure of speech from which this verse is taken is that of a conquering Roman gen ...
