I once read of a stranger who walked down a long, dusty road and came to an old farmhouse. He knocked on the door and the farmer's wife answered. He asked her, "Does God live here?" She answered, "We belong to the Baptist church in town." He asked her again, "Does God live here?" She replied, "My husband is a deacon, and I'm a member of the WMU." He asked a third time, "Does God live here?" The woman did not know how to respond, so the stranger walked away concluding that this home was not a place where God lived.
I ask you the question, "Does God live in your home?" "Does the person, presence, and precepts of God govern, guard, and guide your home?" One way to ensure that God lives in our homes is to build our home on Rock of Ages Boulevard. Someone has well said, "These hath God married and no man shall part: dust on the Bible and drought in the heart."
I might also add that keeping dust off the Bible will also keep drought out of the home. That is why, as we continue the series, Heaven on Earth, we come to discover the preeminent role the Bible is to have in your home, my home and every home.
You see the war in America is not a war on terrorism, but a war on truth. The issue today is not about the left or the right, but about right and wrong. The issue is TRUTH!
A recent Gallup poll revealed that a majority of Americans no longer believe in absolute truth. The most frightening thing is that 62 percent of professing born-again, evangelical, Bible believing Christians says that there is no such thing as absolute truth ...
