INTRODUCTION: Last week, we talked about Saul's amazing conversion--how, that, on his was to Damascus, he came face to face with the Lord. The Bible says, "Suddenly, there shined round about him a light from heaven" (vs. 3). Saul saw the Light, didn't he. He was forever changed. That's what happens when a man meets Jesus. The Lord said, "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh" (Ezekiel 36:26).
This evening, we will talk about two people and two events: first, Peter's healing of Aeneas, a man with palsy and Tabitha, whom Peter raises from the dead.

I. THE HEALING OF AENEAS
A. Aeneas Had a Need (vv. 32, 33)
1. The Bible says Aeneas was sick with palsy. Palsy is a disease that affects the body's nervous system, resulting in tremors, and sometimes, complete paralysis. Aeneas was in such serious condition that he was completely bed-ridden. In (vs. 33), it says that he had "kept his bed for eight years." One can only imagine this poor man's plight. I am reminded of the words of Job, "My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul" (Job 10:1).
a. Aeneas' need was healing--deliverance from his bed of affliction. There are so many people today who need healing--and not just physical healing; many need deliverance from a variety of things:
1) For some, it may be spiritual.
2) Some need deliverance from debilating habits.
3) There even those who afflicted with guilt--they can't seem to get free from their feelings of guilt; they can't forgive themselves? Listen, I know someone who can set you free, someone who ...
