Next, then, Verse 11 Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
God has a plan for all people, and it's one always give hope and a future.
If it wasn't, He would not have sent Jesus Christ to come die for our sins.
And it's through that part of God's plan, salvation in and through Jesus Christ,
that all people can experience a real hope and future, regardless
if life is treating them poorly, or if they're deathly sick, or whatever.
And for the Christian, on top of that, we have a bright future and hope
as we partner with God as this church family.
That's why when we, we agree with Him, and we come alongside Him in His plan to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ, and make disciples,
that God has promised that we will have a hope and future.
You see, nice as our church building is, that's only part of a blessing
He has given us, because God's plan is not for us
to "just have" a nice church building in which to have a holy huddle...
His plan is not for us to just come and sit on Sundays...
His plan is for this church to use this Place as a central place
where believers can gather to worship because they Know Jesus,
and where they can equipped through the ministries to
and to be helped to Grow in Jesus through the teaching
and preaching of His word and the closeness to Him
and fellow believers, as we also Show Jesus and the Love we have for Him.
But it doesn't stop with Sunday worship...
God wants each of us to be actively pursuing Him in prayer,
just as He wanted the Jews to pursue Him as Jeremiah wrote...seek me.
We're to Know Jesus, Grow in Jesus, and Show Jesus in our time of prayer,
both when we're gathered for worship, but also in our small groups...
And then we're to Know Jesus, ...
