1. One thing that always comes up during an election year is Roe V. Wade. Roe V. Wade was the case that went to the Supreme Court and resulted in the 1973 decision that made abortion being legal in the United States.
2. The real name of the "Jane Roe," for which the case is known, was Norma McCorvey. It might interest you to know that McCorvey, who was instrumental in abortion being legalized, is now involved in Operation Rescue, a pro-life organization.
3. McCorvey was working in a women's health clinic in Dallas. The national headquarters for Operation Rescue moved in next door to this women's clinic. The head of Operation Rescue was Philip Benham. It was there that Benham met McCorvey. At first, the relationship was tense, as you can imagine. But Benham, instead of personally attacking McCorvey, he showed her love and compassion. The two actually became friends.
4. She began visiting the offices of Operation Rescue. One day seven-year-old Emily, daughter of the office manager, invited McCorvey to Church. McCorvey accepted the invitation and that very night was saved. Now Norma McCorvey volunteers at Operation rescue, has become an outspoken opponent of the cause she once defended, and has even sought the reversal of Roe V. Wade. How do you explain such a reversal in a person's life.
